Beginning your tour of Spain in Almeria makes it easy to reach several beautiful cities along one road, the E-15, along the coast. You will find this stretch varies enormously in the degree and type of development. East of Almeria, on the way to Cabo de Gata you is a rugged coastline with secluded bays and remote beaches. Past Cabo de Gata is the coastal village of San José, with the small resorts of Las Negras and La Isleta del Moro.
Journey ten kilometers east of the industrial port of Adra to Albuferas de Adra, a 217 ha wetland reserve on the Mediterranean coast. About 8 km along the coast is Roquetas de Mar, a very popular resort for travelers in Spain, offering some nice beaches. Southwest of Roquetas del Mar is a 15 km-long strip of protected coastline called Punta Entinas-Sabinar.
